The official list below outlines reserved time periods, not confirmed exams. Check with your instructor if the final exam for the course will be held during this time period.

Locations

The Exam Schedule lists the locations in which DEP conducts operator qualification exams. Please consult individual exam pages for additional guidelines, terms and conditions and exam information. If you require special accommodations due to chronic illness or visual or hearing impairment, contact the exam provider directly and make sure to provide detailed documentation when you register.

The Faculty Dashboard in Workday offers a "View My Teaching Schedule" that allows faculty to discover their exam schedules. The Registrar's Office also has a schedule of exam times for the courses that are required to take an exam as per NYSED regulations. For evening classes, final exams are scheduled during the regular class meeting time during the final week of exams.

Registration

The exam schedule is available online and students are encouraged to consult it. It is important to note that the schedule for exams can be altered at any time. This is why students should consult with their instructors to confirm that they have the correct date and time for their exam. Students should be sure to print out the official list and bring it to their exam.

Students must also familiarize themselves with the rules and conditions of the exam in addition to the schedule. They are available on the exam's individual page. When they register, students agree that they have read and agree to these conditions and terms.


Exam sites make every effort to accommodate students with special needs. The nature and extent of these needs should be stated on the registration form and confirmed by an attestation of a doctor. The locations for the exam must respect and maintain confidentiality.

If a student is scheduled to take three tests on the same day, they should contact their department or instructor to schedule a retake test. It is possible to have three exams on the same day. However, this can cause a lot of stress and affect the quality. Additionally, the instructor may not be able to give a makeup exam on another day.

Students must review their course materials prior to taking the exam and practice their German skills. The test is a paper-based test that tests the ability to speak, read, and write in German. The test results are given using a scale of A1 to C2. Students who pass the exam are awarded an Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate confirms that the student has attained the level of language A1. This level is the first level of the six-level scale of competence outlined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The exam is free. Students must bring a valid government issued ID to the test. Anyone who does not have an acceptable photo ID are disqualified from the examination.

Fees

You must pay an exam fee if you wish to receive the Goethe-Zertifikat (start German 1) after you have completed your Elan Academy studies. This fee is in addition to the cost of the course.
